A few years have passed since a Manchester tram almost flattened Rita in the Kabin, and there hasn't been too much action in her life since then that would require actor Barbara Knox to require a body double. However, on the Daily Mail website today they reveal an upcoming storyline that shows just that.
The Coronation Street Blog revealed last week that Tina, distraught after giving up baby Jake to Izzy and Gary, will try to numb the pain with alcohol, and this leads to a scene in the park where Rita, searching for Tina, comes across a group of yobs.
Despite the difficult scenes, of which there are some great photos in the article, it appears it was quite a fun day of filming for Barbara and her colleagues:
"...she (Barbara) seemed to enjoy having a clone beside her as the two ladies chatted animatedly during a break from the cameras, while the extra wore a wig to match Barbara's hair."
So while most of us hate the thought of any harm coming to our lovely Rita, at least we know actress Barbara Knox had a nice day in the park!
