Coronation Street writer Damon Rochefort talks to the official ITV Corrie site about writing the episode for Blanche's funeral. (Tomorrow night on Canadian screens)
He says: “Blanche was a character who could say absolutely anything. It was such an honour to be able to write her funeral. The character was not universally liked, but the actress was universally loved. It was important to make it Blanche’s funeral not Maggie’s and it was important the Barlows were affected. She was the glue that held the family together.”
You can read the full piece online here and Damon also previews, in his own words, next Monday's two funeral episodes.
