There's a story in today's Manchester Evening News that says one of Coronation Street's new studio buildings is to be pulled down
and rebuilt after a problem with the construction of a roof.
Corrie bosses insist it will only result in a ‘slight’ delay to the completion
of the Corrie studios and are still aiming to make the move from the
current Quay Street site next autumn.
A spokeswoman for ITV said: “ITV’s construction manager, Mace has
recommended a rebuild of two steel structure areas on the new
Coronation Street site. Construction of the main building and the Coronation Street lot,
continues uninterrupted, as does production of the show at the current
Quay Street site and we remain on track to begin ITV’s move to the new
MediaCityUK base in the autumn.”
