The Mirror today suggets that the current Coronation Street set might be turned over to fans as a theme park if/when ITV move to the new site at Salford Quays.
It's all speculation at the moment, as at the end of the article a Street spokesperson says: "We are currently discussing a number of options," which means nothing's been decided yet.
The set's been closed to the public for the last 11 years although Canadian fan groups are fortunate enough to have been allowed access. (via several tours, Kemptville Travel and Coronation Travel) But if/when Corrie does move to the new site in Salford, would you want to visit the current set if it's no longer being used for filming? I'm not sure I would, to be honest. I'd be much more interested in seeing the new set.
