You are the Corrie Producer: Who would you kill off?

(This post was originally posted by Flaming Nora on the Coronation Street Blog in July, 2010, reposted to this blog with permission.)

Well, well, well, there's going to be a cull and carnage on the cobbles for Coronation Street's 50th anniversary when a train crashes onto the Street.

If you were the Corrie producer, who woud YOU kill off if you could? (And please don't say if you already know!)

Here's my top three for the firing line: Tracy Barlow, Molly Dobbs, John Stape. And here's my three that I would hate to see go: Rita, Deirdre, Gail. And my three to return who would bring tea and sympathy back to the Street: Spider Nugent, Mavis Riley, Curly Watts. What about yours?

My top three to go: Dev, Michelle (and her kid), Lloyd's new girlfriend Cheryl (and her kid). . . I guess that's five.

Three that I hope will never go : Sally, Gail, and crazy Mary.

Three that I would like to have back: Curly, Toyah, and Shelley.

You may get your wish on one of those top five sooner than you think ;)))

I agree, i love Sally and Gail even if they aren't all that likeable. They're good fun to watch. I'd like to see Toyah back and I always liked Curly but i don't see a place for him now.

I would love to see the end of Nick, Molly, and Becky.

I think Steve, Carla (I love how tough she can be when she needs to be. I just wish she would find a guy who didn't let her walk all over him!), and Roy.

I'm afraid all my favourite characters from the past would need to be brought back from the dead -- Vera Duckworth, Jez Quiggly (nice, nasty villain), and Blanche Hunt -- the street is really lacking a battle axe right now!

I'd happily see Nick, Molly and Michelle give up the ghost. They all annoy the heck out of me.

Bring back Toyah, Danny Baldwin, and Andy MacDonald. Even Les would be welcome - I loved the way he use to call Norris, 'Doris'.
