Sunday Canadian Corrie Comments, February 5

Kylie tries to blackmail Audrey with the photo of Marc/Marcia. What does Marc do? Out himself to Audrey's friends. While, in theory, it was a good move, so Kylie had nothing to hold over Audrey. In reality it was a bit of a shock to everyone. I thought most of them took it well but Audrey realized she just couldn't do it. She was fair, she blamed herself totally and she was very honest. I guess Marc couldn't ask for more than that. Audrey sure wasn't in any mood to accept any apologies either. I can't blame her really.

Lovely scene between Kylie and Audrey, though, when Kylie was trying to get her job back. And you know, Audrey probably sees a lot of herself in Kylie, too. She told Kylie a few truths and I think it really hit home. It certainly took the attitude out of her. I do think Gail took it a bit too far, though. She had said she'd support Kylie and David over Max but when Kylie said social services were coming, Gail decided further punishment was in order and still wouldn't let Kylie back in the house. That's understandable from her point of view but it punishes Max in the long run. Kylie did what she thought she had to do, steal keys and lock Gail out. Only David got caught in the cross fire and got water dumped all over him! Bwahahaha!

Oh but it wasn't so funny when Gail wouldn't apologize and David and Kylie planned to move out. Gail did have something to apologize for if Kylie really wasn't unfaithful, which we know she wasn't. Kylie apologized humbly and didn't even justify the things she'd done to get back at Gail (locking her out etc) Gail won't allow her chicks to stray far from her apron strings. Didn't she backpedal fast? She backed them up with the Social worker fully even if her face resembled that of a bulldog chewing a wasp! Ok, a small bulldog.
Now. Why would the Social be concerned about Max moving into a new area and home when he's in foster care, which was a new home and area and being in the Platt house *would* be a new home for him. Poor Kylie, she's so scared and so worried about trying to be a mum again. David cheered her up, though, with his suggestion of a "mobile" manicure service. She's got the get up and go to make it work too, I bet.

I don't think she'd ever try the hair cutting side of things like she thought she could, she's not trained and nobody would take her up on it anyway. She was right too, Gail and Audrey really did take the slagging off too far. She is the author of her own misfortune but they still went over the top pushing Kylie around and taking the wind firmly out of her sails.

Chris and Lloyd got into an argy bargy and little Russ went on the run. You know, this storyline is not all that interesting really. Lloyd is being played for a mug and Cheryl and her gormless kid are dull, dull, dull. And Chris, he's pointless. And Chris is devious. I think he's using his illness to get close to Cheryl again. I'm glad Lloyd gave Cheryl a hard time about him being put in the middle.

Owen sure took the wind out of Ches and Katy's sails by bringing up the worry that the baby might have the same thing Izzy has. Sensible Anna tried to make them see that Owen really does care. Them kids are so young! Anna and Owen are getting closer but Faye decided to steal Owen's mobile and sabotage it. Sending that badly spelled text should have been a clue straight away since she's probably had texts from him previously and would realize it wasn't his text-speak style. But then, Anna shouldn't have canceled her plans with Faye after she'd promised either. That doesn't excuse Faye's actions but she doesn't really know any better I think.

Anna knows she's got problems due to her background and should be more careful and aware before issues like this come up. I'm not entirely sure Faye isn't playing on Anna's emotions with sob stories about her bio mum leaving her when she'd had a fella. It's probably true but i think Faye knows exactly how to use things like that to push Anna's buttons.

What do you think of Matt and Tina as a couple? I think he's a bit bland for her really. Far too grown up! Meanwhile Tommy thinks Matt is shallow. Glad Tyrone pointed out the irony. Dylan is going back to London. Sean and Marcus are going to miss him something awful. Eva reckons Leanne is a man's woman because she doesn't have any girl friends. I don't see Eva sharing a face pack and girly talk with a mate either. Tommy is giving poor Tyrone a little nudge, by giving a tall lovely woman some cash to chat up Tyrone, boost his ego. Don't tell me Tyrone is about to get his heart broken all over again!

Frank is moving things right along, a little too fast really. Meet the parents, buy a house, surprise!!! And he's still pushing Leanne at Carla, too. Meanwhile Carla and Leanne seem to have made up but watching Carla boo-hoo over Leanne and being all sorry feels a bit "crocodile tears" when 10 minutes ago she was lusting over Peter while Leanne was recovering from a miscarraige and 5 minutes ago she was still telling Peter it was him she wanted.

Carla's met the future in-laws. Mother, Anne, is very touchy feely and you could see the hairs on the back of Carla's neck rise up straight away. Too much pressure, though, with talk of weddings and babies, and she started necking red wine like it was an oasis in the desert and look where it all ended! Carla behind the wheel of the car, running down Stella who was heading to talk to Leanne to make peace between them. Now of course, Leanne will be very sorry she hollered at Stella and didn't mean it, really she didn't!
The instant ambulance arrived in seconds, must have been around the corner when Peter called! Stella's in a bad way and Carla's all banged up. Frank moving her to the passenger's side probably didn't help and he's taking the blame for the crash. More to hold over Carla's head, is my thinking. I did wonder where Eva went to get the chips she said she'd gone for. There's a chippy right beside where the car crashed and one at the kebab shop about 20 more feet away. How far did she go?

Fiz is now feeling the effects of grassing up Ruth. She's got that creepy looking short haired woman giving her the creepy evil eye all the time now as well as Ruth pushing her around. Tyrone finally felt guilty enough to go visit her and that got him stuck in the middle of the keystone cops drug dealer busting team of Tyrone, Kirk and Tommy (with a little help from Gary who decided to help against his better judgement.).

What a laugh! Norris' nose stuck in and he got locked in as well but also thanks to Norris, the drug dealer got chucked in jail even though Norris did as well, for a while! Knowing that threat was out of the way, Fiz finally found her inner Cilla and fought back! She always used to be spunky like that but John reduced her to a puddle. Now maybe we'll have our Fiz-Bomb back!

Poor Gary, though, locked in the freezer while Kirk had to divert Norris! At least he didn't freak out. The councilling must be helping!

Yes it was a silly storyline, the three of them taking on a drug dealer (while driving a van with huge signs all over it, no less) and thinking that just talking to him would dissuade him. Whacking him over the head with a mannequin arm *snork*. Kirk telling Gary "We shouldn't talk about the bloke in the fridge" *guffaw* Locking him in the freezer in the empty butcher shop leaving Norris to get involved? I do wonder how Roy was able to hear someone hollering from inside a shut meat locker inside a building but he couldn't hear Norris in the loo one floor down.

Dennis flirting with Leanne made me smile. Becky's job interview skills were a bit less than up to par but that snotty HR woman deserved a telling off and Becky did it so well! What a stuck up cow she was. Too bad Roy couldn't lie to a direct question after Becky had lied on her application.

Eva really is cruising for a bruising and i wish Leanne would take a hunk of that long blonde hair out of her head! Leanne took her disappointment about not being pregnant and her fight with Eva out on everyone, especially Stella. She was brutal to her!

One thing I'm not getting with the Noris / Tyrone refrigerator storyline is why Norris thought the guy was locked in the fridge? Maybe we missed a scene on CBC but didn't Norris clue in that they guy had something to do with his encounter with Kirk at the butcher (i.e he wasn't allowed in due to rats)

I think it was obvious that the guy was locked in the freezer, Norris had to go and open the door where he was. But he shut it and called the police. I don't get why the police held him in a cell overnight thinking he was in on a break-in when he clearly was just investigating a noise. Kirk must have forgotten to lock the shop door though or how would Norris have got in there.
