Coronation Street has picked up the most nominations in the Inside Soap Awards 2012 shortlist.
Digital Spy reports that Corrie leads the way this year with 16 awards nominations, compared to 13 for EastEnders, 12 for Hollyoaks and 7 for Emmerdale.
Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow) is nominated for Best Actor.
Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) is nominated for Best Actress.
Natalie Gumede (Kirsty Soames) is nomated for Best Newcomer.
Readers of Inside Soap - Britain's best-selling soap magazine - began casting their votes for each of the categories in July. The voting has now closed for all categories except 'Best Soap'.
Inside Soap's editor Steven Murphy commented: "We can't wait to reveal the winners of this year's Awards. As always, it's the Inside Soap magazine readers who choose who wins in every category, and this year the competition has been tougher than ever.
"It's been an amazing year in the world of soap, and the Inside Soap Awards are always a fantastic way to celebrate."
The winners will be announced on Monday, September 24 at One Marylebone in London.
