Sunday Canadian Corrie Comments, September 2

Yes. As i was saying last week, Tracy ruined the other shoes on Norris and even worse, let down the vicar with the church decorating, and Emily finally ran out of patience and chucked them out. And it turns out Tracy really was ill with a kidney infection and when you've only got one kidney, that's serious. She might have been ok if she'd gone to the doctor when she started feeling unwell but she didn't and ended up in a hospital bed fighting for her life. Anyone can tell she looked awful. You'd think at least Deirdre, her mother, would spot it. Everyone thinks she's "crying wolf" but she collapsed.

What does Steve do? Say some blandness about always being a *part* of him that will love her for giving him Amy. Even that is a lie. He loves his daughter and maybe is grateful but there's no part of him that loves Tracy. But he said the L word out loud and she's grabbed onto it with both hands just as he's getting back together with Michelle. She should know better and so should Steve for saying it. I've long maintained Steve has given Tracy mixed signals for years. It's no wonder she can't let go. And Steve, coward that he is, lies to her face about how he feels because she's sick. Except she's now on the way to recovery. Steve has to scramble to keep everyone in the dark about everyone else but he got busted kissing Michelle by Amy and then tried to get her to lie about it! Poor kid! If she grows up normal and nice and kind it'll be a miracle. But it could happen. Chesney turned out ok!

Anyway, the truth comes out and Steve is shunned by Michelle (for a minute at least) and still couldn't tell Tracy. Deirdre let that particular cat out of the bag and now Tracy is out for revenge. So much for telling Steve that she's changed for the better. Still more mixed signals. He tries to be nice and then he tears a strip off her when she thinks they have a chance. He should know by now that she'll take every little crumb and run with it. Why does he keep it up? She must be feeling better though. 5 minutes out of the hospital and she's ready to go 5 rounds with Michelle in the middle of the street. Michelle missed a moment there, when Tracy was going on about Ryan's drug habit. Michelle should have pointed out that Tracy's single kidney was because of her own drug use! But Tracy... flirting with Ryan? Really? You know she's only doing it to wind up Michelle. It'll probably work, too.

I still can't understand why children's paint wouldn't be water washable and shouldn't ruin shoes that much. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to fire Karl because he's had an affair with a neighbour, nobody even directly related to Streetcars' owners. Rob didn't think Eva would have stooped so low as to set up Karl but then he overheard her bragging. Me, i would have fired her and rehired Karl. Rob doesn't seem too keen to get up close and cosy with Eva. Why? Because he's too busy chatting up Stella! Say no, Stella! He's just a cheeky and feckless as Karl in that respect!

Kirsty is gone and Tyrone is beside himself. Looks like he might have lost another child! Instead he's lashing out and snapping everyone's head off. Having your friend tell you you're better off without them is probably true but not what he is able to hear. Really, though, Kirsty knows that she's in the wrong in spite of her trying to put it over on Tyrone and she's probably done the right thing by leaving even though Tyrone is bereft. If she can't control her temper, she'll continue to hurt him and she does seem to love him enough to try to spare him that. Tyrone is definitely not himself, being nasty and obnoxious and rude. Ok, he's heartbroken but there's no need to be like that and Kevin told him a few truths and gave him some advice. Fight for that baby!

But when you go to the police about a "missing" person, they're not going to take you seriously if the person walked out of their own volition. But Ty is still walking around with a face like a wet weekend.

Ryan might not have called that dealer over to the cab office but it was still his dealer. Not the first time. Ryan is also highly irresponsible, hogging the switch phone when customers are trying to get through. What a div. (And again, can anyone understand anything he's saying?)

Happy birthday Stella. Of course she looks 10 years younger. It starts with B and ends in TOX. Leanne and Stella on their way out to the Bistro. Music in the Rovers "We're on the road to nowhere". Why do they both sit on the same side of the table? Why, so they can both see Karl and Sunita come in, of course and yet another row in the Bistro to erupt. Man i would be avoiding that restaurant like the plague.

Does anyone believe that Mary never actually booked two rooms at the hotel and hoped that Roy would spend the night in the motorhome? I really thought she plotted but it turned out that she didn't and the hotel really did mess up the booking. Roy was even willing to cancel his concert but Hayley wouldn't hear of it, he'd lose money. Hayley insisted to Roy continued with his plans. In the meantime, Anna sure clocked what Mary was up to and gave her her notice. He went but he was so antsy and worried about wanting to support Hayley that he really didn't settle. And I don't know why he couldn't get a phone signal. Mary got one and I've had one in Malvern myself! He was then horrified at having to spend the night in close quarters with Mary, that they came home. Mary could tell that she had absolutely no chance and he is devoted to Hayley.

Poor Hayley was in a tizzy, afraid that Mary could take Roy from her. I know she's confident of Roy's love for her but I think down deep she's still got a fear that she could lose him to a biological woman, especially one that has her had set for Roy. Hayley and Mary had some really nice scenes though. Mary thought she would be better off leaving town and it ended up being Hayley that stopped her when she found out that it really was the hotel that mixed up the bookings. Norris was sure shocked that Mary was going to leave but he couldn't say anything. I think Norris has grown quite fond of her though I don't think it is love. Neither could he express that he was glad she wasn't going either. Oh and is it actually legal for someone to park a camper van on a street and live out of it 24/7 for months and months at a time? And she did mention that everyone thinks she could stoop to anything to snare a man, making it sound like that's not true. Someone wants to ask Norris about his enforced sojourn in a cold cottage on the Yorkshire moors. Anyway Mary really does know what she's like and is aware of her faults.

I'm always amazed that people who have never seen the inside of a church and don't even seem to believe in God want their baby christened. Gary is determined now to have a family even if Izzy doesn't want to be pregnant so they are investigating adoption. Seeing as Steve and Becky weren't turned away for having a criminal record, but Gary seemed to be, i can only surmise it was because Gary's was for a more violent charge and there's the post traumatic stress thing to be concerned about as well, as far as the adoption board goes. Plus they want them to wait a year which they didn't insist on for Becky, remember. Gary's heart is broken but Katy has taken sympathy and has offered to be a surrogate. That solves one problem but what about the fortune it costs? Katy might be legally able to make that decision at 18 but is she really mature enough to do it? Owen will lose his mind! It really sounds like a lot of work just to do it too. medications, hormones, procedures and a whole crapload of money.

And Owen did lose his rag, and rage, in the middle of the Christening. Poor Chesney wasn't very happy either and yes, it's a very big thing to talk about and not mention it to your partner. She should have gone to Ches as soon as the words were out of her mouth, that evening. I can understand Owen being upset and concerned and i would be too if it were my children, but it isn't any of his business is it? He doesn't have to agree or even approve of what his children do but they're adults and he's got no say over it and it's not fair for him to make it black or white. My way or the highway. He'll push them away like he's done a lot in the past and Anna was right to point it out. It's ok for him to express his opinion. But he needs to leave it at that. No bullying but then that's his nature and it looks like he could lose Anna as well as his daughters.

Owen has figured out that Chesney isn't too keen on the whole thing and he's pouring poison in Chesney's ear, fear mongering, scary stories, it'll all end in tears, you know! And he's got Chesney on his side and objecting strenuously. Oh he's sly, is Owen and he's naive, is Chesney. But Gary overheard Owen and that was that. They should have figured it out from what Chesney was saying earlier, it was classic Owen coming out of his mouth. Owen is unapologetic. And you know, I think Gary has his head in the clouds too about it all. As soon as he finds something he wants, he obsesses and doesn't really think of any ins, outs, ups, downs, drawbacks or any other sides to be considered. It doesn't mean what he wants can't be done but he does need to have a reality check as well. Katy did say though, that she would choose Chesney if he made her but that made Chesney back down and support her. Good lad. Not really sure this is going to happen, mind you, and I don't really think I want it to. We've got enough babies on Coronation Street.

Katy and Chesney's money woes are getting worse now that the van is knackered and Ches didn't tell Katy about it for days, letting her plan to spend money on a christening. Aw but Gary is lending them his vehicle for the time being. Lovely man.

Sunita is really living in a fantasy isn't she? Happy Families, in her mind. Karl finally got a job at the factory but Eva screwed it up for him. Really, i can understand she has it in for him but she really needs to rein it in. If anyone has the right to do nasty things to Karl, Stella does but otherwise, it's none of Eva's business. And you know, her impulsiveness has already lost her one boyfriend. She could be on the slippery slope to losing another one. And Eva should be going around bragging about what she'd done, too. IT's painful watching and hearing Sunita in her fantasy world with Karl.

Did you see Baby Jack smiling when Sophie talked about him learining new nasty words off Kevin? Awwww And now Kevin is grinding and banging walls and Paul can't sleep. He's tearing chunks out of Kevin but come on, doesn't he still have his house? If not, why weren't we told? And if Kevin is working in the downstairs, why would Paul be trying to sleep downstairs with one thin wall between him and next door? Why doesn't he sleep upstairs? It might be marginally quieter. Kevin says he's got to get the work done while the childminder has Jack. Doesn't the childminder have Jack every day when he's working at the garage too? And the big strong fireman can't stand putting an earplug in his ears. I have to come down on Paul's side, Kevin is being an ignorant oik. He could have figured out Paul's night schedule before he started the work in the first place.
