Tyrone called Tina to take over so Kirsty wouldn't catch him and Tyrone is frantic though Tina is right, he can't be caught there so he has to put on the performance of his life. Tina went with Fiz to the hospital but all the doors in the house are open! He leaned on Tommy to help. Sure enough, it's carbon monoxide poisoning from the boiler. Happy New Year, Tyrone. Meanwhile, Tina spends a tearful new year's in the hospital.

Now the waiting begins to see if Fiz will recover or if she has brain damage. Well of course she'll be ok. I want to know if someone  has closed the doors on the house. Tyrone is bereft with worry and guilt. Even if Fiz is ok, which she is, there's still him fixing the boiler illegally so Fiz is going to keep schtum and so will Tina and Tommy I should imagine. And in the face of Chesney and Kirsty's grilling Tyrone, Tommy offered himself up as the sacrifice and lied that he'd tried to fix the boiler but Tyrone won't let Tommy go down for him if it comes to that.

Chesney is on the warpath and Tommy is going to be cannon fodder if he has his way. Owen too. Again Tommy takes the heat for something that isn't his fault. Wanna bet that's what brings Tommy and Tina back together again? It certainly has a feeling that way. Tommy's being investigated which makes Tyrone feel even worse. He really had a grilling too, it seemed to have gone on for hours seeing as it was broad daylight when it started and it was dark outside and quite late when he was done but at least he got off with it. Of course Fiz would be ok, and now she's home with everyone glad to see her. Except Kirsty of course.

Audrey was flaunting a date under Lewis' nose. If she's trying to move on, why would she take her date to the Bistro anyway? Yet more motivation for him to take revenge on Gail. Surprised they were able to get a table without a reservation on New Year's Eve. Lewis is determined to find true happiness, with meaningful looks deep into Gail's eyes.

A near kiss, a bare brush of lips, and Gail is skipping on cloud 9. Lewis really is laying it on thick. What are the odds that Lewis would run into an old friend from 20 years ago in a backstreet Bistro and Gail didn't catch on? It's quite funny really, how naive she can be. Lewis seems to be roping her into almost the same scam he tried on Audrey, a villa in the Med, his dream job, but he pretends there's something keeping him in Weatherfield. Like.... Gail? Lewis might even have got a raise out of it from Nick. Bonus result there.

In a real world, though, would you really accept the amourous advances from your mother's ex who also has a long  history of scamming women? Wow, though, Sally and Gail got together for a girly chat! We haven't seen that in some time! Sally is caught up in the romance but why on earth would Sally not know who the other woman is in Lewis' life? Audrey's gigolo was the talk of the Street for months! No wonder Sally urged Gail to go for it. She wouldn't otherwise.

And why does Audrey keep flaunting her dates under Lewis' nose? Not very nice, really. You can see it's rubbing Lewis the wrong way, can't you? At least Audrey isn't going to keep on seeing Henry, he's a bit rough isn't he? Lewis is telling Gail he's leaving at the end of the month which is just enough of a push for her to think "Mam who?". If she gets involved with Lewis it's going to hurt Audrey even more than she already has so he reckons keep it secret for now. There are so many alarms that should be going off in Gail's  head but as usual, she's too thick and her heads too far in the clouds to hear it. It seems like Lewis may be pushing Gail into sticking her nose into Nick's business even further under the guise of good advice. Of *course* it was a bad idea but Gail has the sense of a goose, off she trots and sticks her nose in, even though it's against her instincts.

Leanne had a birthday gift for Nick but he wasn't very inclined to accept it but he couldn't bring himself to throw it away either. It's a walled with a family pic of them in it. Ouch. He's insistent on making a clean break. Nick Tilsley has always been a self centered twit and sure, he's hurt but there were definitely shades of the old Nick who made Leanne get an abortion and then left her anyway when he threw the photo back at her and told her not to wear the engagement ring. It would have hurt, but hurt less if he'd just asked for it back.

Leanne is struggling coping with Peter because she says half of the shop is hers. What happened to "separate shifts" that Peter had suggested. Doesn't seem to be happening. And Nick wastes no time sniping at her every time he sees her near Peter. But Leanne is determined to win Nick back and she knows he still loves her, probably always will but he doesn't want to be hurt again. I can't blame him. She proposed to him and wants to marry him next week.

Will Nick accept Leanne's proposal? He's conflicted and Kylie seems to be his sounding board of choice these days. She makes sense but Gail is about to explode at the possibility that Leanne could have another chance to hurt her baby. Lewis' advice is for Gail to talk to Leanne rather than badgering Nick. Eva can't help sticking her neb in and she goes running to Peter who knows exactly what Eva's doing but he picks up the baton anyway so he can get a few more digs in at Leanne.

Nick did go to see Leanne after all but Peter was there instead and poked and pushed and insinuated. What a pissing contest! Nick, humiliated and all his buttons pushed, lashed out at Peter and Peter, smug as he was, just had to have a pop right back at him. So who was the winner/loser of that pissing contest then? I would have said Peter until Peter fought back. Tie, then. But Nick fell off the end of his rope and trashed the bar. If he wanted to be on his own, why didn't he lock the Bistro door?

Carla's on the warpath now and Michelle had to admit she knew. Will she have him arrested? Probably not. Carla's right, he could have talked to her about it and he didn't. And yeah, he did cut corners and use cheap materials. I can't blame her for sacking him. Back to the flat with Peter to get bladdered on mineral water, poor thing.

Carla isn't going to sack Michelle and she's got some fences to mend. But Carla isn't about to mend those fences with Rob who is making deals with that slimy git from a few weeks ago, undercutting the factory but how in hell is he going to get anyone to actually work on the orders? He's telling the guy the staff work from home but yeah. Industrial machines in someone's house? And the client bought it?

Rob is moving into the flat next to Michelle, well with the cafe flat in between, that must be Janice's old place. Client MacNee backed out of his order, that's the slime bucket Rob was wooing. There was no signature so he can do it, too. Rob is having fun being smug and winding up Carla over the order and made sure she knew he had something to do with the client backing out and going with him instead. Carla isn't going to let him get away with it. How? He doesn't even have staff yet.

Ooh Sally's mentioned Rosie! She's going to visit! But then she's back! Erm...I thought Sally was going to London to see Rosie? Was it just overnight between the Wednesday and Friday eps? Anyway, while the cat's out of town, i bet the mouse will play. Kevin's nearly prostrate with apologies and Sophie can't stay mad at him for long. Kevin certainly has his tail between his legs over what happened with Jenna. Paving the trail for...those long meaningful looks between Sophie and Jenna.

Sophie is recovering very well but isn't happy she won't be seeing much more of Jenna. Jenna snapped at her after Sophie tried to buy her a drink but Sophie was awfully insistent. Oh well, Jenna apologized. What's a girl to do? Snog her, i see. Bad timing, Kevin, the worst person possible, caught them! (Why does Kevin still have a key to the house?) Jenna also as much as admitted she fancies Sophie but I really can't understand why. They have absolutely nothing in common except they're both lesbians.

Eileen, Paul, Karl and Sunita... unlikely dinner companions. Karl's idea of dinner conversation is to bang on about his ex and Eileen's son while getting drunk with Eileen on tequila. Brian looked great in that kilt, surprisingly. No. not really. Most men look great in kilts no matter what their usual style is.

Mary's finally doing a theme night at the Bistro, well the first one we've seen. And in usual Mary style, she's taking control like an elephant in a china shop but Nick at least, can stand up to her more bizarre ideas. Meanwhile, Nick is struggling with pain and heartbreak but Leanne wheedles her way in and volunteers to help out on a busy Bistro night.

Karl really is kind of useless isn't he? And he's turning Sunita into a nag. Couldn't even get his arse up a ladder and paid Craig to do it. Always baffles me when people take their kids to school by bus or car when Bessie St. is just a couple of blocks away from Coronation Street. Ryan and Sophie seem to be hanging out a lot lately. I guess they have nothing else for Ryan to do these days.

I thought that Gail didn't tell Sally who the man was. At one point, Sally asked her if it was Kevin.
