The awards were held, and shown live on ITV, on Wednesday 23 January 2013 from the 02 Arena in that London.

Corrie best off competition from rival soaps EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

Well done, Corrie! A well deserved award and about time too!

Up on stage to collect the award was Phil Collinson, William Roache, Jennie McAlpine, Antony Cotton, Shobna Gulati, Michelle Collinson and many more. New producer Stuart Blackburn was also on stage.

William Roache thanked everyone who voted for Coronation Street to win the prize. He thanked everyone from producer to the make up lady (who was on stage too!).

Phil Collinson thanked everyone who voted too and he dedicated the award to the late Bill Tarmey.
