Leanne has decided to sell her half of the bookies. Carla has sold her flat and has cash. Do the math. Can't blame Carla for losing patience with both Peter and Leanne. Nick isn't happy that Leanne might be more involved with the bookies and between Leanne and Nick, Peter's getting it from both sides. And Nick had no business going to Peter to put his two pennies in. Carla and Peter are bickering over Leanne's role in the bookies.
I don't expect Carla is happy about it either which is why she made the offer. Carla going behind Peter's back to buy out Leanne wasn't a good idea. Well, buying her out was a good idea, just not the secrecy but it's done. Leanne wasn't keen to take her offer at first, strangely, after she'd been so itchy to be paid out. Maybe that was just a ruse but she got a good price in the end and she was the one that told Peter about Carla's offer when she realized he didn't know.
He wasn't best pleased and doesn't want to work with Carla. He went whining to Leanne who takes great pleasure in winding him up. Leanne is quite pleased, and Nick too, to have caused friction between Peter and Carla. It seems strange hearing Tracy defend Peter, being a good sister. Carla comes up with another idea. Rob is doing a great job bringing in new orders and drumming up business. He's got good ideas for improving the bookies too which gave Carla a good idea. Make Rob work with Peter and Rob's driving a hard bargain but it probably would work if Peter would accept it. Which he won't.
Carla waited until first thing to spring Rob on Peter who isn't having it but she's insisting. Peter feels like Carla is treating him like a child and she certainly is wading in and talking over, that's true. Rob must have some mighty powerful contacts to get all that new machinery and televisions installed in the space of one day. He also seems a bit jealous of Peter disguised in contempt. Peter and Steve teamed up to try to show Rob up.
Katy ended up following Ryan out to the clubs. I guess no matter what she says she can't stay away from him. She got off her face and Ryan wouldn't send her home to Owen. Probably a good thing. But Fiz is talking sense to Chesney who's going to try one more time, and it's too late. He's blown it.
Katy's getting relationship advice from Michelle? Katy reminds me of that Katy Perry song blowing Hot and Cold and so does Chesney. This "coincidental" meetings and sightings are driving me insane. It never fails. Chesney's about to make up and sees Katy with Ryan and he goes cold again. I think they need to break up and make it stick. Move on people. Owen thinks Katy needs to make a decision. She has but it's not the one he wanted to hear.
Michelle is not best pleased about Ryan and Katy and reckons he'll regret it. So do i. But he won't be told and he managed to talk her into a proper relationship. Chesney is heartbroken and sunk into depression and not working again. Fiz knows he's wallowing and he needs to get himself together. (Someone's got to pay their share of the bills, after all!)
Indeed, Izzy did feel like a spare part and Gary doesn't really see her side of it. She wants him to back off but he can't. Izzy can see that growing bond even if she doesn't recognize what it is yet. Gary can't keep his distance from Tina and Tommy is getting his face in a knot over it. Tina's happy that the burglar's caught but her dad's ring was sold off. Tommy is still sniffing around but keeps getting strong armed by Gary at every turn. Tina isn't sure about spending more time with him but they could be tentatively making their way back together.
It's nice to see Tommy and Tina slowly coming back together. Not so nice to see Owen screaming and buckling under the pressure of the Rovers job. Surely he's had big time-sensitive jobs in the past? Also not so nice to see Gary running around sniffing at Tina's heels and interrupting her on her lunch date. Surely that wedding ring could have waited. He succeeded in making Tommy look like a jealous prat. Result!
Gary's being blatantly obvious that he's got growing feelings for Tina and Tommy can see it so Tommy jealously hints at it to Izzy. Childish but he's spot on. He did lie, though, as to how much he actually spent and it wasn't the original ring. Anna found out and now she's suspicious, too. And Why is Tommy still living with Rita and Dennis?
Because Steve thinks a horse is a dead cert, it's sure to lose. Anna is misery personified. OH heck, St. Ella's back. How much work did she expect to happen over the course of a week? Owen's crew wield hammers not magic wands. Stella didn't come back to very good news, though. The insurance company
I see Jason has got a new van to replace the one Karl burned out. I wonder why they always use Victoria Station instead of the main Piccadilly station. I suppose it's to do with availability for filming. Piccadilly is far busier.
I see Tim is already pandering to missy's nagging and having her out late on a school night and not feeding her breakfast. A little bird passed on the message to Anna, too.Faye was well up for spending an hour by herself, lying that Anna leaves her alone all the time, which of course, she doesn't. But Tim was eager to get out for a bit so he did it anyway. She managed not to tip the hat to Anna and Tim got back late and a bit drunk and dismissive of her, up late again and alone. Not quite what she thought it would be like, eh?
Mary was very good with the kids, wasn't she? Mary is making herself indispensible. This could work you know. Dev burns the toast just like Sunita used to do and he's not coping well with the morning routine what with him having a cold. At least he's got the sniffing down pat! Mary again arrives on the doorstep with breakfast. Dev still isn't willing to hire her and she's going to be in his face until he does. I really like the way Mary is very honest with the children.
Paul left. Eileen just wanted to hide her head under the duvet but went out to say good bye. I'm surprised Paul didn't say "can we still be friends"? I don't blame her for being miserable. It's tough. Nice to see Deirdre helping to prop her up with a bottle of wine. Wonderful scene. I like girlfriend scenes like that. The wine must have been Dutch Courage, she decided to go for the last stand at the train station but she thought she was too late and it was all for nought.
