CBC Schedule changes for Canada for the hockey playoff period

No matter that they said we'd still get catch up during the playoffs, CBC is cutting back the extra episodes between April 11 and June 13 back to the old schedule of a half hour a day. This isn't so bad, though, because they'll continue the catch up once the NHL Stanley Cup is awarded and we'll be caught up by September.

So, According to this schedule, and doing some looking on the schedule grid for other time zones:

Starting Wednesday April 11 Coronation Street will be showing ½ hour episodes daily.

On Wednesday April 11 to Friday April 13, the program airs ½ hour only as follows:
In Windsor, ON at 5:30 p.m. local time
Most other Ontario and Quebec and Atlantic time zone has Corrie at the usual 6:30 p.m. time slot.
Newfoundland start time is 7:00 p.m.
In Man/Sask/Alta/MTN/BC/PTN at 1 p.m. local time

The midnight broadcast will also be ½ hour in length but may be delayed due to NHL playoff games. Please check the CBC Program Guide for more information.
All of this week's episodes will be seen in the Sunday, April 15 Omnibus broadcast at its regular time. This broadcast will be 3 ½ hours.

Please don't hate me, but I'm actually looking forward to going back to watching a half hour a day. It's not that I feel that I've overindulged in Corrie by all the catchups (and there was a long time that I was trying to watch double episodes!), but it will be nice just to sit and watch one episode a day. It's a little beyond me why we're going back to one episode in the middle of the week, but I suppose one can't complain!

Let's just hope ITV doesn't schedule any extra episodes between now and mid-June so that we stay at our arms-length for sometime.

Thanks for keeping us up to date with what's happening!

I agree....as much as I enjoy getting caught up...5 hours a week is a lot to devote to a tv show...and if I miss a day, I miss a LOT!

To tell you the truth, blogging it is a bit of a chore too, with double the Corrie each week so i too will be glad of a bit of a break! Still looking forward to catching up further and then we'll stay a few weeks behind. That's pretty darn good!
